When eighty-five pounds of dog is suddenly in your way, you either stop or trip over him. Momentum played a part in Raul’s decision. He fell forward and spread his arms wide to catch himself on the bed rather than accidentally catch a handful of Mali’s towel. 
He caught a face full of her towel-covered cleavage instead. 
Mali squeaked. 
Raul rolled to the side. 
Taz barked. 
“Sorry.” Jeezus. He tried to get out his apology, his eyes clamped shut. He was not going to remember how good she smelled, a mixture of honey and sea salt and the indefinable, delicate scent of woman. Nope. He wasn’t. Nor was he going to ever think about how nice her cleavage had been. Just enough to bury his face and let him nuzzle without being so full he’d suffocate. The palms of his hands burned with an insane desire to feel her soft skin cupped in his grip. 
Mali backed away and then hissed in pain. 
His head cleared, and he opened his eyes to see nothing but ceiling. “Did I hurt you? Do you need help?” 
She leaned forward into his range of view, one hand clutching the front of her towel over her breasts. That was a really hot image, too. “No. I just sat back too fast and put weight on my sunburn.” 
“Oh.” He had no idea what to do. He couldn’t sit up while she was leaning over him and rolling to the side seemed awkward as hell. Of course, so did lying flat on his back in front of a woman in nothing but a towel. “Is there something I can do to get out of this situation without Arin wanting to kill me?” 
Mali’s eyes widened, and she froze for a moment, her lips forming a seriously naughty looking O. Then she blinked and laughed. “No. Probably not.” 
It was either laugh with her or pull her down for a kiss. “I’m doomed. Dead.” He paused. “Once I get you safely to Arin, that is. No worries. We’ll get you to her before I report myself for molesting her little sister.” 
Her laughter faded, and her dark brown eyes sparkled with mischief. “Well, if you’re going to get in trouble anyway…” 
She bent then, leaning a hand on his chest, and pressed her lips to his.

Dillon twisted his neck and flashed me an apologetic grin over his shoulder. Unwanted butterflies swirled in my belly, and I quickly yanked my hands away from his shoulders and took a step backwards. His eyes flashed with male satisfaction and his grin grew wider. Determined to ignore the impact he had on me, I shifted my focus to the students. “Your test date is coming fast, so you’ll need to squeeze in as much extra study time as you can without neglecting your regular coursework. Maybe set aside some time during Thanksgiving break when you don’t have as much homework.” “Ugh. Studying over break sucks,” one of the girls complained. “Yeah, but you guys are in the homestretch. This test score is one of the last things you need to get into college. Trust me, it’ll be worth the extra effort.” “I guess if you could get into college while recovering from a transplant, then the least I can do is a little bit of studying over a holiday break that isn’t even that big of a deal since I don’t have a family to celebrate it with anyway.” The other kids nodded in agreement, and I snuck a peek at Dillon while everyone finished packing up. His brown eyes were wide with shock. I quickly looked away before he could ask me anything, and focused on saying my goodbyes as the kids all headed out. We both kept quiet—for which I was incredibly grateful—as Dillon helped me clean up the room. When we were back on the road, I turned to him and asked, "Were you really teaching my kids how to count cards?” His lips tilted up at the edges. “Maybe just a little.” “It’s a good thing none of them have any money to gamble or else they might learn to enjoy blackjack as much as you do.” His lip tilt turned into a full-fledged grin, and I glared at him. “I don’t know why you’re grinning at me! Look at what your affinity for gambling got you.” “What?” He pointed at his face. “The black eye?” “Yeah, for starters.” His grin grew into a blinding smile. “It was worth it.” “What? Why?” “Because it’s the reason I met you.” Shit. Those damn butterflies took flight in my stomach again

Rochelle Paige has raised the bar so high in Fortuity. There was absolutely the most emotional depth to everything about this story. Every character had purpose and vibrancy. So much life was felt in the thoughts and dialogue. Dillon and Faith were like a storm that you never realized was on its way. 

No preparation could be done that would help them be ready for each other. 

They felt such a deep connection and neither could fight the pull. Their love grew from purely physical, elemental chemistry to soul deep and their passion was beautiful. 


I absolutely can't wait to see what's going to happen with this amazing couple. Faith and her  journey to overcome adversity and triumph over her childhood has really touched my heart. I can definitely feel the authors on personal experiences flowing into these characters  breathing life page by page.

Valentina rushes me. Her speed and movements inhumanly graceful. She throws her arms around me like she would a long-lost friend and not the sister she hasn’t spoken to in years. She lifts me briefly, making a grunting sound as if I weigh a more than I do.
Following an uncomfortably long embrace, she holds me out at arm’s length, staring down at me and asserting her apparent superiority. “It’s so good to see you, Allie.” Her face softens like she wants to cry. “Mom says you don’t have a date for the wedding. But don’t worry. Andy and I will find someone to take you.”
Andy? I slowly turn in Andres’s direction. Lovely.
I suppose it could be worse. I could be Andy.
“Did you hear that?” My mother asks, beaming. “Your sister and Andy are going to find
you someone so you don’t have to be all alone.”
They wait, expecting me to thank them. I’d rather stab myself in the eye with Valentina’s
pitchfork.
I lift my chin, meeting my sister square in the eye. “I have a date,” I reply.
“No you don’t,” my mother immediately interjects, making me feel worse because she’s
right.
I stand to my full height, ignoring how they tower over me, clinging with my teeth to whatever strand of dignity remains.

My breath leaves my lungs with an odd squeak as Seamus yanks me to him, pressing me into his large, firm body. His chin is smeared with cream, chocolate stains the front of his shirt, and he has something stuck between his teeth. That doesn’t stop him from flashing a smile with what remains of his pearly whites.
“How’s it going?” He smacks my ass and gives it a squeeze. “I’m Seamus. Allie’s boyfriend.”
