Exclusive Excerpt:

“Anyway, about Erik. Did you see those arms? I bet he could bench-press me. Maybe you and me at the same time even.” Josie fanned herself with a lazy hand. Richard’s teeth flashed, then vanished just as quickly. “Girl, he could hang one of us from each bicep and do curls. If that guy doesn’t have a thirst-trap Insta account with a billion workout ab shots, then I quit life.” Her fingers involuntarily twitched toward her phone to search “hot Chicago baker,” but she forced them to behave. “Too bad he’s not my type.” Richard paused with his coffee cup halfway to his lips. “Excuse me? I thought Nordic god-men were everyone’s type.” She reached for another sugar packet. “Big and brooding’s nice to look at, but I’m more into confidence and a three-piece suit.” She dumped the crystals into her already-sweet coffee and stirred, looking up when Richard snorted. “Oh yeah? And how did your last five dates with the suit-wearing ‘so-confident-it-borders-on-narcissism’ guys go?” Richard just laughed when Josie stirred her coffee harder. “I’m not saying date the hot baker, and anyway, you probably already scared him off. But I am saying maybe what you think is your type is really more your mom’s type, and you’re only dating them to win her approval.” “Hey!” Her mug hit the table with a thunk, and Richard raised his hands in surrender. “Ooooh, sorry. I retract. It’s your fault and your fault alone that you’re the most single girl in Chicago.” “Damn righ— Hey!” she said again, but he just laughed evilly and went to fetch another refill for himself. She twisted in her chair to call after him, “Everybody loves a man in a suit!” but her words were lost in the scream of the cappuccino machine. She exhaled a similar gust of hot, agitated air and turned back around in time to see the door swing open to admit the big blond baker. And her eyes hadn’t deceived her during their previous two meetings. Erik Andersson was, to dust off a word she hadn’t had much use for previously, positively strapping. All he needed was an ax and a blue ox. Nope. Definitely not her type. Bright blue eyes swept the crowded shop and landed on her. As before, not even the tiniest flicker in his somber expression showed that he recognized her as he weaved through the packed tables with surprising grace for such a big man. When he reached the table, he stood close enough that the scent of vanilla on his skin edged out the acrid burn of coffee beans. “Hi.” She tipped her head up, up, up. “Do me a solid and sit down before I permanently damage my neck.” He complied and laced his fingers together on the table in front of him. “Hello,” he said, studying her with a frown hovering at the edge of those unreadable blue eyes. Yet again, she was reminded of her uncharacteristically frazzled appearance. She couldn’t have paused to apply a little lip gloss at some point? “Hey! You made it!” To cover her nerves, she held her hand up for a high five, and after a moment’s hesitation, Erik delivered the world’s most gentle smack to her palm. His dinner-plate hand dwarfed hers. Mmmm. Big hands, big “Sorry to interrupt.” Richard was back with his refill and a wry smile. Damn his timing.

Cover Reveal : The Best Man by Winter Renshaw

I didn’t know her name, but I heard her laugh, tasted her lips, felt her warm skin as I held her in my arms. Together we watched our young children playing in the sand, the warm ocean lapping the shore behind them as the setting sun painted the sky. She was my soulmate and this was our life, our beautiful forever …

Then I woke up—alone in a hospital room, connected to wires and machines.

There was no wife. No kids. Not a single soul waiting for me. That life I dreamt of … never existed.

I’d been in a devastating wreck, a nurse told me when she rushed in. Comatose for weeks. I’d have a long road to recovery, but I was going to make it.

From that moment on, the dream haunted me. I saw that woman’s face every time I closed my eyes, searched for her in every crowd, ached to be with a stranger I felt I’d known my entire life … and I swore that if I ever found her, I’d do anything to make her mine.

Anything.

Then I found her.

And it was both the best and worst day of my life because the woman of my dreams … was about to marry my best friend.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: No cheating, no love triangles. That’s all I’m going to say … ;-)

Wall Street Journal and #1 Amazon bestselling author Winter Renshaw is a bona fide daydream believer. She lives somewhere in the middle of the USA and can rarely be seen without her trusty Mead notebook and ultra portable laptop. When she’s not writing, she’s living the American dream with her husband, three kids, and the laziest puggle this side of the Mississippi.

WW - BT banner

“The perfect, irresistible romantic comedy!”

—Erin Nicholas, New York Times bestselling author

Weekend Wife, an all-new sassy and quirky stand-alone rom com from New York Times bestselling author Erin McCarthy, is available now!

WeekendWife FOR WEB

Billionaire businessman in need of a fake fiancรฉe…
It should be the easiest job ever for an out-of-work actress, right?
All I have to do is pose as Grant Caldwell (the Third)’s fiancรฉ for a fancy-pants weekend in the Hamptons. Easy. Wear designer clothing and sip champagne? Don’t mind if I do. Flirting with Grant? It’s so delicious I should be paying him.
Nothing can go wrong as long as I can just keep my hands off of him.
But that’s the hard part. And I do mean hard.
Because Grant is sexy.
And bossy.
And surprisingly sweet, a real rarity in his pretentious family.
Oops. I’m not as good at faking it as I thought. Or maybe they call this method acting. Because it’s getting harder to figure out where my character ends and I begin…
It just might be the role of a lifetime.

I looked at Leah. “Sorry about that. I am not filthy rich.” I actually was, but I felt compelled to be modest. “I’m just rich.”
“Oh, yeah? Well… I think everyone’s definition of filthy is different.”
And just like that, Leah took an awkward moment and made it flirtatious. Her voice was low, breathy.
Green light. That’s what that was. And I was hitting the gas and plowing into the intersection.
I eyed her. “What do you know about filthy?”
I had leaned closer to her, turned slightly, my thigh brushing against the fabric of her skirt. Her lips were a ripe raspberry color and she had a divot in the base of her chin that made me want to kiss it. Her chest rose and fell beneath her tight sweater with a quick rhythm, like she was turned on. Intrigued. Contemplating her move. She opened her mouth, gaze sweeping over my lips, and for a second I thought she was going to move close enough that I could kiss her.
Instead, she held my gaze, all seduction and skill, while her hand shot out and tucked the cash into the breast pocket of my suit. She grinned and turned back to the front, smug.
Damn.
“Nice acting skills,” I told her dryly. Leah, starring in the role of femme fatale, and I’d fallen for it.
“Thanks. I’m working on eye contact.”
I was working on blue balls.
She was cute and clever. Fuck.
I knew a couple of women who wanted exactly what I did—no-strings-attached sex. No one got offended if months went by without contact and it was just as likely they would text me as I would text them. I didn’t get… ensnared. Leah could ensnare me. It might be time to send out a sexual SOS. I needed zero contact with Leah after today. She wasn’t good for my concentration. But I did admire both her boldness and her talent.
“That was savage,” I told her. “I love it.”
“I need a distraction from the fact that my ankle seems to have a heartbeat and half the ice has melted so now my sock is damp.”
Right. Her busted ankle. That was the relevant issue at hand, not my dick.
“You really should elevate your ankle. Turn a little.”
Surprisingly, she obeyed me. I dug my way through all that fabric and hauled her calf and ankle up onto my lap. I also tucked the hundred bucks back into her skirt pocket. She didn’t seem to notice and just cleared her throat.
Leah bit her bottom lip. “This is weird,” she said. “I don’t think you want my damp sock on your pants.”
There were so many things I wanted to say. All of them inappropriate as fuck.
What I settled for was, “Don’t assume what I want.”

Blog Tour/ #GIVEAWAY / Review: A Favor for a Favor by Helena Hunting @HelenaHunting #AFavorForAFavor #NetGalley

"Bishop and Stevie's relationship is pure, raw, can't-take-your-eyes-off-the-the-page kindle crack. One of my favorite books by this brilliant author." - LJ Shen, USA Today bestselling author

A Favor for a Favor, all-new standalone slow burn romance from New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting, is available now!

A Favor for a Favor, cover

A new stand-alone romance about trading favors, battling wills, and winning love.
When I joined Seattle’s NHL expansion team, I thought it was the start of something great. But nothing ever goes the way you expect. Take my introduction to my new neighbor. She came rolling in on the hot mess express at midnight, making a racket while she tried to get into my team captain’s apartment. Did I mention that he’s married to a woman who definitely was not her?

Imagine my surprise when I end up with an injury that has me out of the game for weeks, and she’s the one to offer to help me. I should probably add that she’s not the captain’s mistress. She’s his sexy, pastel-haired younger sister.

So we come up with an arrangement: she rehabs me so that I can get back on the ice sooner, and she can add a professional athlete that isn’t her brother to her client list. Seems simple enough. As long as I can keep my hands to myself and my hormones in check.

AFFAF - AN

When it comes to hockey-themed romances, Helena Hunting is undoubtedly my absolute favorite author and having such great adoration for the Pucked couples, I wasn't sure the All In series could measure up. So thrilled that I was incredibly wrong. After devouring A Lie for A Lie, I was excited to jump into her upcoming release. A Favor for A Favor had everything I relish while reading one of this author's tales - A cast of colorful and looney characters; A broody-hot and lovable hero; A spirited and sassy heroine; Comical banter that had me chuckling as well as a captivating story-line brimming with sexual tension and off the charts slow-burning chemistry. From this couple's awkward beginnings to witnessing them fall hopelessly in love, I've enjoyed every moment of Bishop and Stevie's journey.

Meeting RJ (Rookie) Bowman's little sister in the first installment, I immediately liked her spunky character. A recent graduate who's down on her luck, Stevie is determined to establish a career in the sports field as a physical therapist without the help of her famous brother. A strong-willed, intelligent, quirky, and witty tough gal who possessed a gentle and vulnerable side, she embodied everything I admire in a strong heroine. And when challenged to a face-off with her beyond vexing and contentious new neighbor Bishop, the plucky Stevie is not easily intimidated to go toe-to-toe with him. I love how she's fearless and unafraid to combat her belligerent (but funny) adversary. The banter between these two was hysterical.
When Bishop suffers from an on-ice injury and in desperate need to speed up his recovery, Stevie is there to turn his misfortune into an opportunity to put her therapy skills to work. It's only a matter of time that these two enemies foster a friendship bursting with heaps of sexual tension, which eventually leads to something more.

Bishop "Ship" Winslow was a hunk of a hockey player that I totally fell for, but I have to admit, it wasn't easy. First impressions of Ship were not favorable as he was judgy, offensive, abrasive and hot-headed.

However, it didn't take me long to love him and see all the sweetness hidden beneath the brawn. A guy with loads of responsibilities and worries, Ship's priorities were his career as well as taking good care of his brother Nolan. Deep down, he was a big-hearted guy and once the animosity towards Stevie waned, it was a treat to see the loving, passionate, and gentle side of this hero. Together, they made for an adorable couple.

Another fun and light-hearted romantic comedy from Hunting that I thoroughly enjoyed. This was a fantastic read. Flirty, sexy and amusing, A Favor for A Favor quickly became another favorite for me. I loved seeing some old friends from the Pucked series - now older and more mature - as well as getting to know some new and exciting characters. And Shippy's boxer shorts... absolutely ridiculous and hilarious. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series.

AFFAF - Teaser 1 AN

“Say you were taking a woman to a formal work function. Would you get her flowers or something?” I’ve gone on my fair share of dates, had a few relationships, but I’ve never been one for hearts and flowers or any of that bull. I’m thinking I might need to do that with Stevie, though, since she’s been screwed over pretty hard.

“Is this a date or a favor for a friend?”

“I guess she thinks I’m doing her a favor.” At least that was the impression that I got when I offered to go with her.

“Is that actually what you’re doing?”

“Yes and no.”

“Can you give me a little more to go on?”

“Her ex is going to be there and I don’t want her to go alone.”

“You don’t want her to go alone because you’re worried he’ll be a jerk or he’ll try to take advantage of her?”

“Sure, yeah, that’s part of the reason.”

“Instead of me dragging the information out of you, why don’t you lay it down for me?”

“So, Stevie—”

“Hold up, we’re back to Rook’s little sister?”

“Who else would I be talking about?”

“I thought you said there isn’t anything going on between you, and now you’re taking her to some kind of work function? That’s not a favor; that’s a date. Does Rook know?”

“It’s none of his damn business.”

“I’m not sure he’ll see it that way.”

“Well, he doesn’t have control over her or what she does, or what I do.” I’m agitated now. “She’s not going to that thing alone. I don’t trust that ex of hers, and I don’t want her to end up in a situation she doesn’t like.”

Kingston tips his head to the side. “Dang.”

“What?”

“You like her.”

“Well, yeah, I like her.” What’s not to like? She’s gorgeous, and she’s funny and feisty; her body is rockin’; and she’s fun to be around, super chill, and genuinely selfless.

“Like you actually want to date her, though.”

I shrug, because what am I going to say? The answer to that is yes, I want to date her, but the timing needs to be right. “I don’t want the ex thinking he has another chance.“

“You really love complicated situations, don’t you?”

“They just tend to find me, is all.”

“When’s this event you’re supposed to take her to?” King asks.

“Saturday.”

He frowns. “We get back at noon on Saturday.”

“It’s in the evening.”

“You better hope our flight isn’t delayed.”

I hadn’t considered a delay. The only reason that would happen is if the weather isn’t good. “It doesn’t start until five. I should have plenty of time to get home and throw a suit on.”

Kingston nods and taps restlessly on the edge of the pool. “So would you call this your first date?”

“We hang out all the time.”

“‘Hang out’ meaning what?”

“Other than PT sessions, we watch hockey, eat pizza, stuff like that.”

Kingston blinks several times in rapid succession. “That’s it?”

“I pick her up from work a lot.”

“Have you ever bought her flowers before? Brought her any gifts?”

“I brought her over an aloe plant once. But, like I said, it hasn’t been like that.” I don’t get why he’s so hung up on the flowers.

“Again, please try not to take offense, but are you sure you haven’t inadvertently put yourself in the friend zone?”

“How do I know if I’m in the friend zone?” I haven’t had a lot of friends who are girls. Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever had a friend who’s a girl who isn’t related to me. And I only have two female cousins, whom I see a couple of times a year at family functions. They’re significantly younger than me, so mostly I avoid them.

It’s Kingston’s turn to blow out a long breath. “If you put your arm around her and she gets all snuggly but doesn’t try to take it any further, it could mean you’re in the friend zone.”

I don’t know what my expression must be, but the panic I feel inside quite possibly reaches my face. I feel like it should be obvious that I’m interested. A guy doesn’t spend endless hours with a gorgeous woman who combines weird pizza toppings for shits and giggles. But then again, I haven’t attempted to make a move on her since the almost-kiss. And any conversation I’ve tried to have with her about it has been shut down. In fact, she wants to pretend it didn’t happen. I hadn’t considered that this might be because she actually didn’t want it to happen at all. She seemed just as into it as I was. Or maybe I’ve been misreading the whole thing. “If I’m in the friend zone, how the hell do I get out?”
