Willing Victim by Cara McKenna

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ladies and Alphas, we have a winner!

Oh my fucking God how did I not know about Cara McKenna before Willing Victim?

Michael Flynn is my ultimate hotter than hell anti-hero. Yes, he's into rough sex, PRETEND rape fantasies (as is Laurel) and control in the bedroom but out of it he's witty, funny, kind, loyal to his family and so much more ...I WANT HIM!

So, he's 32, she's 29. They're not wealthy or virgins (she's even had a bit back-door action, there's no naivety going on here - she wants this) and although she's moving into a darker side of herself it isn't done in a way that would put me on edge. Laurel is completely in control when things get rough and has a safe word, this is only fantasy and doesn't in any way condone rape. It isn't non-con, it's completely consensual.

I couldn't put it down, it's a love story. Four fantastic hours of reading and although it's a standalone book, I want more! If it had been a third longer to give me more depth, it would have been a 6!

I LOVE FLYNN, give me more Cara!

5 EPIC STARS!! Wow, I cannot believe that was a debut novel! The writing is flawless! I cannot remember the last time I stayed up well into the night reading a book because I just could *not* put it down. Absolutely captivating and I loved every word!!

Nora is getting ready to start her senior year at Briarcrest Academy, a prestigious high school in Dallas. She’s a spelling bee champion, an accomplished pianist, a beauty queen. Her parents are rich and she lives in a 10,000 square foot mansion. She’s on track to be the class valedictorian and plans to head to Princeton next fall. Her life is perfect. Or is it?

“I couldn’t let them see the real me, the one that was obscene and gross. They’d hate me; they’d be disgusted by me.”

Nora’s life is far from perfect. Behind closed doors, her family is a mess… her absentee dad, her verbally abusive mother, her drug-addicted half brother Finn. The pressure to maintain appearances has pushed Nora to a breaking point. She’s ready to make some changes in her life. She’s ready to shed her good girl reputation by doing some very bad things.

Leo is 25-years-old and guardian to his teenage brother, Sebastian. They lost their parents at a young age leaving Leo afraid of commitment. If he doesn’t get attached to people, he can’t lose them.

But when he locks eyes with Nora at BA registration, he knows there’s something special about her. But he doesn’t understand his feelings. He’s scared so he builds up walls and pushes Nora away.

“I’d given him my heart, and he’d given it right back.”

Told from both POVs, Nora and Leo’s story is beautiful. I loved her personality and how she broke out of the spoiled little rich girl mold. And Leo is just swoonworthy… 6’5” dirty blonde hair, icy pale blue eyes, rock hard body (he owns a gym, so you know his body is perfection!), dragon tattoo on his chest. And he’s got a bit of a dirty mouth. So yeah, totally swoonworthy :)

Can’t wait to read the next book in this series!!
