SYNOPSIS BLU.png
Maverick “the Avenger” Cage wants to rise to the top and become a legend in the ring. Though he keeps his identity well guarded, he's known on the fighting circuit as the new kid with a chip on his shoulder and a tattoo on his back that marks him as trouble. He's got a personal score to settle with the Underground's one and only Remington "Riptide" Tate.

As Mav trains, he meets a young girl—the only other new person in the town--and sparks fly. When things get heated between them, he finds out she's none other than Reese Dumas, the cousin of Remington Tate’s wife. A girl who's supposed to root against him and a girl he's supposed to stay away from.

But Maverick fights for the woman in his heart, and the monsters in his blood. The world’s eyes are on them and the victor will go down in history as the ultimate fighting champion; the ultimate LEGEND.

* LEGEND is the 6th and final installment of the REAL series, but it can also be read as standalone or after the three Remington and Brooke books (Real/Mine/Remy.)

REVIEW BLU.png

I began writing reviews a few years ago after I was blown away by this beautiful broken yet amazingly strong boy named Remington "Remy" Tate. I had never even attempted to review a book before. I finished Real by Katy Evans and I couldn’t contain the emotions it caused to bubble up inside of me. I am not sure how a character can simply become someone you feel like you actually know, someone you care about and root for. Remy became my favorite hero .and still is.
I fell so hard for this hero that every hero after Remy was measured against this perfect alpha and usually couldn't match him. I felt this series has just captured my heart in a way I can't convey in simply English.
This series is so special to me, and the first book Real will by far live in my heart forever.
Every single book after Real touched me and captured a little piece of my soul. To find out this is then end ..well it’s bittersweet and I felt so sad yet craved it anyway.

Maverick “The Avenger” Cage

Maverick was another beautiful broken boy who filled all the cracks in his soul with the steel of a warrior. His determination and his drive could literally be felt vibrating from the pages.
I felt his rejections and his hope dwindling but at the same time I also felt his soul and spirit drive him harder at every closed door.
Reese Dumas
Reese with 3 words changed this wonderful man's life along with her own and my favorite Remington Tate.
With 3 words bonds were built and wars were waged between enemies that aren't the ones in our face but those behind us.

3 words.. Maverick was not only determined to fight his way to the top. He was absolutely sure that Reese would be his and that he'd not stop till he was worthy of her love.

I can't tell you how you'll feel reading this beyond breathtaking story but I will tell you what I felt.

Anticipation
for each moment these two spent together.

She calls to me on the most primitive level. She’s in my fucking veins. This girl.

Wonder
at how close the grew even in times apart. How one simple touch between these two surpassed pages of sex I've read in other books.
 Awe
that one conversation had more emotional depth than you can ever describe.
Eagerness and melancholy
that I didn't want it to end yet couldn't stop reading.
 Amazement
in how Katy took a match that you don't know who to root for but absolutely convinces you the winner who was meant to win did in the end. And winner isn't the right word and singular isn't the right term. Because winning in life isn't always the victor at the end of a soul crushing battle, it's the feeling you accomplished creating something, a feeling of rightness, a family, bonds, and in the end a legacy.

With this series I'll always think back to heroes who fought hard to find themselves along with the woman that fits them and makes them even stronger. Heroines who weren't perfect but found the belonging and family in men who aren't to proud or too strong to hand over their heart. Heroes that are totally loyal and proud to be faithful.
Katy has not just written stories she's created characters who are so vivid, so REAL that they will live on always.. Even after that last page.
I will never forget...

LEGEND 1.png
EXCERPT
At Tate’s corner, outside the ropes, his coach whistles. “You two get some headgear on. Stat.”
Tate’s lips curl rebelliously, and he looks at me with challenge in his eyes.
I smile back, a feral curl of my lips.
We tap gloves.
No headgear.
I jab. He swings his arm, blocks the hit, leaps back, and I jab again, blocked again.
We space apart and jump in place, shaking our shoulders, loosening up. I pull my gloves back up, narrow my eyes, and he asks, “You think you’re the shit because you’re fast and strong? I got news for you. I’m faster, I’m stronger, and I’m disciplined. Your coach isn’t doing you any favors.”
“He’s in my corner, and that’s enough for me.”
He swings, I duck fast and come up behind him. He straightens and faces me again. “If you settle for that, then you should settle for second place.”
“What the fuck. You want me to win?”
“I want a good fight. I like keeping things real. Reminds me I’m a man. Mortal.”
“I want to be a legend. Legends never die. Even if they die alone.”
He swings again, and I duck, come up, and jab three times.
He blocks repeatedly, then hooks with his right; I deflect. He grins and jabs again. I block, then I duck before he puts me up against the ropes, and I head back to center. He follows.
“To be a legend you need to fall seven times, get up eight,” he says.
I remember a final a few years ago when my father kicked Tate to a pulp. “Or not fall at all.”
He backs up his arm and then smacks the smirk right off me. “Before you stop falling, you need to embrace the fact that you’re going to hit the ground.”
I clean the blood from my mouth, glowering.
We take positions again, and he watches me as if waiting for my next move as we start dancing around, jumping, waiting for the other to strike.
“Do you want the headgear now?”
I lunge and start hitting, and he blocks, deflects, blocks. “Fuck you,” I grit out.
“Getting angry doesn’t help. You control the anger, not let it control you.”
I want to prove him wrong; I loop out my arm and aim for his head.
He ducks and hooks, his knuckles cracking into my jaw. I spurt blood and bounce against the ropes.
I shake my head, wipe the blood away, grit my teeth and straighten, narrowing my eyes. “My turn,” I growl, and I swing. My fist connects: a kidney punch.
He blocks my next hit, frowning in thought. “You’re cocky for someone who just lost yesterday.”
He jabs.
I dive my upper body to the side, evading. “You got to play it to become it.”
“I’m the champion, not you.”
“You won’t live forever, champ.”
He jabs three times, then leaps back, flexes his arm and looks at it.
“Muscle memory. You hit enough times, you fight on instinct; part of your brain works on your assault, the other is focused on the other’s assault. Let your muscle memory work for you and consciously stay focused on your opponent’s eyes.”
I laugh mockingly. “I don’t need your pointers.”
“Go back home to daddy, then.”
“When I’m finished with you.” I punch him, then raise my left hook and connect hard enough to stun him.
He raises his head, shakes it to clear it, and wipes blood from his nose. I catch my breath, satisfied I got some blood. At least I won’t be the only one with an ice pack tonight.
He sees the blood on his arm and looks at me, impressed.
“TIME!” his coach yells out from the corner. “You two won’t have shit for the fight if you keep up this nonsense.”
Tate grins at him, then turns back and glowers at me. “You get enough?”
“Barely warming up here.” I squint the blood out of one eye and raise my gloves. “Come get it, Riptide,” I growl.

I grab the spatula and slap frosting on the cake like I’m flogging it. Dean comes up behind me. “I missed you,” he remarks. I growl in response. “I love you,” he adds. Another growl rumbles in my throat. I turn and smack Dean’s chest with the spatula, leaving a smear of chocolate on his shirt. “You were supposed to be home at eight,” I say accusingly. “I had it all planned out. Nicholas was going to be sleeping peacefully, I’d be showered and all prettied up with lingerie on under my dress, waiting for you with a glass of scotch and a delicious gourmet dinner, followed by homemade chocolate cake. Afterward, I was planning to take you upstairs and actually get sexy. “However, since you were inconsiderate enough to come home three hours early, you get nothing.” I wave the spatula in the air and turn back to the cake. “Nothing!” “Oh, I’ve got something.” Dean slides his hands around my waist and pushes his groin up against my bottom. “I’ve got the hottest, sexiest, most perfect wife in the universe.” “Hah. Good luck with that.” “Mmm.” Dean pushes my hair away from my nape and kisses the back of my neck. “You smell like Spaghetti Os with meatballs. My favorite.” “Again…” I push my hips backward in a half-hearted attempt to shove him away, but the movement only presses my ass closer against him. “Good luck.” “I don’t need anymore luck.” Dean presses his lips in a line over the ridge of my collarbone. “I’ve already got you.”

Cover Reveal: Jack & Coke ( Uncertain Saint's MC #2) by Lani Lynn Vale @LaniLynnVale

Title: Jack & Coke
Series: Uncertain Saint's MC #2
Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Genre: MC Romance
Release Date: May 6, 2016
Lies
Mig’s wife is a bitch.
How else do you describe a woman that lies, cheats and steals to get what she wants?
That’s exactly what happens when she traps him into a marriage he wants nothing to do with, saddling him with a kid that he knows doesn’t deserve to be in a world like his.
He’s doing a pretty bang-up job at ignoring everything but his responsibilities as a DEA officer and a member of The Uncertain Saints MC.
Then his neighbor knocks on his door, and everything he thought he knew is blown out the window.
Deceit
Annie teaches Mig that not every woman is out to get him.
Her love for Mig stretches past what’s appropriate for two friends, and Annie soon straddles that invisible boundary between appropriate and inappropriate.
Annie’s not a cheater, though.
When she tries to say goodbye, Mig won’t let her leave, and soon the tiny town of Uncertain blows up with the news of Annie and Mig’s innocent friendship.
Betrayal
Matters of the heart are foreign to Mig, and it takes Annie being gutted for him to see the wrong he’s done.
He waits too long, though, and Annie’s heart is broken.
She wants it all, or she wants nothing. She can’t take anymore half-hearted attempts at being just friends.
The heart wants what it wants, and it doesn’t take long for Mig to realize that.
But just when Mig finally has it all in the palm of his hand, his life is ripped to shreds by a new player in the game, and it takes all of Annie’s love and devotion, as well as help from the men of The Uncertain Saint’s MC, to put Mig back together again.
“Go get the door for the policemen I can see outside,” I called. “And tell them you have a DEA Agent in your house so they don’t try to shoot me when they enter.”

“I already did,” I heard Annie say as she got closer.
I saw her only a few seconds before she disappeared around the edge of the hallway into the entry way beyond it.
Then the door was unchained, unlocked, and swung open.
Three cops were the next to enter, and I nodded at the one I knew.
“Hey there, Officer Kirkpatrick,” I called to my good friend.
We had drinks every week, sometimes multiple times a week.
I had to do some creative thinking to get away from my wife, and Officer Kirkpatrick, a.k.a. Bullseye, was one of them.
Well, I didn’t do him…but I hung out with him.
Often.
And Bullseye had a hell of a wife that didn’t care if I was over there as much as I was.
“What’s shakin’?” Bullseye asked.
“These two men here decided to break into Annie’s house. I’m just here making sure that they don’t get off with anything valuable,” I answered.
The other officer, Antonio Juarez, I didn’t know very well.
He was new, and hung out with the young’uns instead of us old folks.
Well, I was thirty-four, which wasn’t ‘old’ per se, but it sure as fuck wasn’t young, either.
“What’s that in his hand?” Juarez asked.
I looked down at Howard Ryan’s hand, and narrowed my eyes.
“That’s Annie’s purse,” I answered.
Annie’s ‘purse’ was more of a beach bag, and I didn’t know how the hell she found anything in it.
But I wouldn’t know what to do with her if she didn’t have it with her.
She’d been able to supply me with an ice pack, and a water on two different occasions, so I wasn’t one to complain when it was beneficial to me.
“Well, boys, let’s go for a ride downtown,” Bullseye said, walking behind Howard Ryan and handcuffing him.
Ryan shot me an evil look as he left, promising retribution, and I smiled at him.
Bring it, little boy. You can’t handle this, my look said.
Forty-five minutes later, the cops were leaving with both men in the back of two separate cars, and I was left standing on Annie’s front porch with her next to me.
“Thank you,” she said, looking up at me with all sorts of promises in her eyes.
I touched my fingertips to her cheek and smiled down at her.
God, she was beautiful.
Long, wavy brown hair that went down to her mid back. Beautiful, full lips.
A smokin’ ass.
Light brown skin that was nearly the color of mine.
She wasn’t Italian like me, though.
She was Puerto Rican, and she wouldn’t let anyone call her otherwise.
I’d give anything to be with her but my life, and name, belonged to my wife.
God, if there was any way I could rewind a year, I’d do it in a heartbeat.
I would’ve never invited my now wife, Jennifer, to the club party.
Jennifer was the exact opposite of Annie.
Rude, opinionated, and selfish.
Now she was six months pregnant with my child, and I hated every fucking second of my life.
“You’re welcome,” I said roughly. “I’m gonna have a few men over here in the next few days to install an alarm and make sure nobody can ever do that to you again.”
“Mig, what the ever loving fuck are you doing over there?” My wife screeched.
I winced and slowly dropped my hand, looking over at Jennifer like one would a pile of fish heads and vomit.
Then I turned around when I saw she was dressed in little to nothing.
How not surprising.
I’m a married mother of three. My kids are all under 5, so I can assure you that they are a handful. I’ve been with my paramedic husband now for ten years, and we’ve produced three offspring that are nothing like us. I live in the greatest state in the world, Texas.

Exclusive Excerpt:
CHAPTER 1
Libby Klink gripped the wheel of her Sonata tighter. She squeezed her eyes shut against the gridlock of makes, models and metal surrounding her; against the stone cold gray of the highway’s Jersey barrier, four inches from her left side view mirror.
Just a traffic jam.
Her body knew different. Her pulse raced. Her blood, her brain wailed, frantic with the rhythm. She battled the stars claiming her vision, gulping air into her lungs. Shaking, she rummaged in her purse until her fingers closed around a prescription bottle. Flipping open the lid, she snatched one white round pill and downed it with a swallow from the ever present water bottle in her drink holder. Sweat glazed her scalp, her neck, her armpits. She shivered inside her lightweight cardigan and scraped her ponytail away from her damp skin.
Just a road.
Like hell. More like a cattle chute. She’d been sitting here, what, ten minutes? She lowered the driver side window to breathe in greedy mouthfuls of early April air. And willed the meds to kick in, trying not to think about the fact she was effectively trapped. On I-279 South. About a quarter mile outside the city of Pittsburgh. Or that she had to pee.
She closed her eyes, tried to conjure soothing mental imagery; a forest, a beach. Wasn’t that what her therapist taught her to do? But other thoughts and images crowded her mind.
The cashier at the grocery store two nights ago.
The barista at the coffee house this morning.
The smells.
The dreams.
If that’s what they are.
