On the 8th day of Sizzling Christmas: Warmth in Ice by Meredith Walters

On the 8th day of Sizzling Christmas

~Amy's Sizzling Review~

Maggie and Clay will always be one of my favorite book couples. And this series will remain on my “favorites” shelf forever. I love love loved it!! And this novella was the perfect ending.

If you haven’t read Find You in the Dark and Light in the Shadows, you should start there first. It is a beautiful love story.

This novella takes place after the main story of Light in the Shadows, but before the epilogue.
Clay is in Florida in an independent living facility after being released from Grayson. He continues to stay on the right path and follow his treatment plan to deal with his mental health issues. Maggie is starting college at James Madison University in Virginia.
“I promise, Maggie. We’ll get through this. You need to go to school and kick ass. I’ll do what I have to do down here. I’m going to follow this plan step by step and we’ll be together before you know it.”

They quickly realize how hard it is to maintain a long distance relationship. Even with frequent Skype sessions, jealousy and insecurities begin to affect their relationship. Clay worries about Maggie meeting someone new. Maggie worries that once Clay is better, he won’t feel the same about her.

Told from alternating POVs, this novella is the perfect wrap-up to Clay and Maggie’s story.
“I love you, Clay. Don’t ever forget that,” I said more harshly than I intended.
Clay looked up at me, his eyes boring straight into mine with a love that would never burn out.

“You have my heart, Maggie. Keep it safe.”
